Grab some thumbtacks.
Using some tacky glue or E600, glue the buttons to the thumbtack.
Allow for plenty of drying time.
Then, starting pinning.
The possibilities are endless.
Thrifty Crafty Girl has a few other ideas for transforming your thumbtacks, some of which probably involve defending yourself against a zombie attack :)

I love that! Of course, I don't have a button jar. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO DOESN'T HAVE A BUTTON JAR? I'm asking Santa for buttons for Christmas.

These are sooo stinking adorable and what a great way to dress up those boring old thumbtacks.. you know though.. if Amie did them I wonder if they would be topped with fabric flowers and button centers.. ha ha aha!
