Special Whatchamacallits Affectionately Pinned Somewhere.
If you have a Girl Scout, you've probably already heard of SWAPS. Being new to the world of Girl Scouts, I had NO idea what SWAPS were. Oh, how quickly we learn things.
Basically SWAPS are pins that you make to trade with other girls at Girl Scout functions.
The first official Girl Scout function Grace was invited to participate in was a father and daughter luau. The theme was cute, despite the fact that it was about -6 degrees outside.
The SWAPS Grace's Daisy troop made, were beach themed.
They were easy to make and turned out adorable. She made a total of 12.
Grace came home, having successfully SWAPed, with a bag full of pins. Though hers were my favorite, these grass skirt pins were a close second.
Have you ever SWAPed?
How fun! Good job to Gracie for making 12 of them! I think the grass skirts were also great. I can't wait to get my kids involved in Cubs/Girls Scouts when they're old enough.
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was a great swaps. I love both
ReplyDeleteluv them! we have twilight camp for cub scouts and we do swaps (they call them den doodles - but I used a lot of swaps ideas). we did hawaiin theme too. the umbrellas, mini colored seashells, and mini sunglasses. the grass skirts are awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I could use flip flops in my life right now :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Erin...and I agree, I need some flip flop weather in my life too.
DeleteOh they're so cute, I had never heard of them but how fun, Elizabeth would still be in for something like that so cute.
ReplyDeleteFun idea. Looking forward to the next swaps. :-)
ReplyDeleteAdorable!! Love Grace's and those hula skirts. I loved swaps when I was a scout growing up. They were a lot of fun. You brought back memories for me.
ReplyDeleteAhh! I love the hula skirts!! And these pictures and fonts are fab, girl! Nice job :)
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this, but I"m going to google images of it and see what other fun stuff is being done! What a great and creative idea! Leave it to the GSA!!
ReplyDeleteThe closest I've come to girls scouts is eating the cookies :) I love what you and Grace created for her SWAP! The grass skirts were pretty darn cool too but yours were the best :)
ReplyDeleteNever heard of SWAP but cute and fun idea for the kiddies!
ReplyDeleteAs a mother of two girl scouts I have never heard of SWAPS!!!! I am going to look into this more and suggest it to my troop leader. I love that you and Grace have joined. I am actually a girl scout now, myself. never was as a kid. :)
ReplyDeleteJust heard of swaps myself since my daughter is brownie. Found your site and your oh so cute swap while we are trying to figure out one to do ourselves. Do you mind telling me what you used for the beach towel. These are adorable.
ReplyDeleteThanks
