Want to transform your own drab vase to a fab vase?
Gather the following supplies: a glass vase, decorative paper {I purchased mine from JoAnn Fabric}, scissors, paint brush, Mod Podge and flowers.
Start by trimming the paper down to an appropriate size for the vase.
Spray the back of the paper with Easy Tack Adhesive to help secure it into place. *I learned this the hard way.
When your paper is securely in place, apply at least 2 coats of Mod Podge over the decorative paper.
Patiently wait for the Mod Podge to dry.
And...this vase and those beautiful daffodils really do make me happy 'just because'.
nice amy :) i don't blame you, it does makes me happy too!

ReplyDeletei'm all smiley by just enjoying yours! and i must get myself some modge podge...i've never used the stuff;) have a good day...
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that! It's so simple, but yet really elegant! I want to do that! I don't have Easy Tack, because I'm always overzealous and bought this dizziness-inducing spray glue, but I'm sure I could sort it out!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done!
Where did you find that paper? It looks so fancy! lol Fresh flowers make me happy too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Erin. I bought the paper from Joann Fabrics.

ReplyDeleteLove the added touch of the paper! I have to embrace Mod Podge more ;).
ReplyDeleteturned out beautifully! ...and the flower is a nice touch :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all your modge podge posts. This is really a pretty vase and I especially like your pretty pictures and displays. I must pin this and make one of my own.
ReplyDeleteTotally beautiful! You could make a votive or candle holder too! I love this! I could DO THIS!
ReplyDeleteOr some of thos $1 store glass plates....then turn them into the 'Pinterest fave'. The $1 store plate & candleholder cake plate! Of course, to actually serve food on them you'd need to line with plastic wrap, I guess...but would still work..oh, and using doilies!!!
DeleteHi Amy! I love this vase!! Please share it on my linky party today.
ReplyDeleteI realized I hadn't heard from you in a while, but I changed over to wordpress so I prob don't show up in your feed anymore :(

ReplyDeleteOh that really did turn out lovely. Hmm easy tac maybe that's where all my mod podge disaster happen, by not adhering first. I'm going to try again.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous Amy!
ReplyDeleteI've seen so many white "lace" vases in the stores! One piece of pretty (and inexpensive) scrapbook paper and you've taught us all how to transform these ordinary vases into beautiful art! Perfect project for my new mantel :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and simple too!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I'm not a hardcore 'scap-booker' but I do use the books of themed paper. Oftentimes they'll include a piece or two of beautiful, extra heavy scrolled paper, that I really didn't know what to use for. Now I have a use for those, and some of the 859 floral vases I have! Also, what kid wouldn't love taking card stock and cutting a snowflake into it, then doing this on a vase or even a $1 store glass plate, for a beautiful, hand hewn, holiday gift for Nana!? They could even take a patterned piece and snip out pieces to do the same. Your fantastic idea spawned baby ideas for me! Thanks to a fun, creative and energizing read this morning!!
ReplyDeleteAna! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Your comment left me inspired and wanting to go out and by more decorative paper. What great ideas!!! Thank you so much for sharing them.
DeleteBeautiful!! Thank you for sharing at Sharing Saturday!!
