Grace's Gallery Wall

The gallery wall is finished and the house is still standing.  The joys  hanging anything in plaster walls.

This wall makes me smile.  It's filled with frugal finds and homemade creations.

One of the only things I specifically bought for Grace's big girl room was this print that reads:  She Lives Life In Her Own Little Fairytale

This describes Grace perfectly.  My sweet little girl has a brilliant imagination and has happily created her own fairytale.

What's more fitting to display beneath a fairytale print but a frog just waiting for a kiss to be transformed into a prince.

Fluttering around, beautiful pink stained glass butterflies made by Grace's grandpa (my talented father in-law).

In case she ever forgets her name, she has this wood GRACE plaque, again made by her grandpa.

Also, included in the gallery wall, ornate frames collected from Goodwill.  Each frame cost no more than $1.99.  I'd love suggestions for what to display in the smaller white frames, with the pink centers.

On the shelf, button artwork made by Grace herself and a Lalaloospy peacock.

This gallery wall is proudly displayed, just over her new big girl bed.

And, Grace's little dress is still proudly displayed it was just moved to a larger wall.

I should mention, in the fairytale Grace lives in, I feel like Cinderella...I'm off to clean her room so I can finally show off pictures of her transformed big girl room in entirety.

  1. bahaha that sounds like me and cor's room! hmm maybe you can let the little frames be display for revolving little trinkets that she luvs and collects at the moment. are they cork board or pinnable in any way? our frames have gotten OUTRAGEOUS at our GW. yesterday I went and dropped off donations (only time I allow myself to shop anymore so I don't get run over with junk) and they had an awesome frame with a poster type print in it and it was $200! i'm not lying it was twice as expensive as what I would have paid for a new custom frame!

For the tiny frames, how about either tiny flowers or more critters?

  7. I love your wall and the bright pink colors! Having butterflies and a cool name plaque made by Grandpa makes it extra special. Maybe a pic of the grands in one of the little frames and a pic of Cinderella and her prince charming (um, that's you and yours) in the other? That frog is the bomb, Amy!

  8. I know exactly how you feel, Cinderella. I love those frogs and how you've arranged everything. I know nothing about plaster, is it not bueno for hanging things?

  12. I love how you hung her dress on the wall!!! Now I want to go home & save my kids' special baby clothes so I can do that. I bet Grace loves her room. As for the little white frames with nothing in them yet, let Grace decide! I bet she'll put something awesome.

  14. Once upon a time I had a little "H" who had a similar frog in her room. She grew to become a stained glass artist and create her own butterflies with her Prince Charming, and I think the old frog is still in her past closet. Maybe a pic of a frog in one frame and a Prince in another?

  15. Oh Amy this is so perfect for Grace! Love it!
My suggestions for the small frames - some fun artwork of Grace's or a couple black and white prints of Grace - perhaps a side shot of her looking at something or a whimsical pose of some kind :) I know you will come up with something perfect - in fact you may have already done that! Hope life is going well for you and you are just busy. Sorry it seems to take me longer and longer to get by to see you!
