It's that time of month where I share my Goodwill finds. I have
continued to show restraint in my Goodwill purchases but I'll let you
decide that for yourself after you take a look at my purchases from the
past month.
My favorite find from this past month, a ceiling medallion for $1.99. Ok, so it's made of plastic but that means it's light and will be easy to hang. I might have to introduce this medallion to Annie Sloan, though.
I amassed a collection of glass bottles. Each was .49 cents. For $2.50 I have a milk bottle and a few mason jars. On my to do list, to make a mason jar sewing kit or a mason jar wedding kit.
This lamp is one of those things that made it into my cart and I debated buying or not. For $3.99 I ended up deciding to buy it for Grace's room. My hesitation was that it was made out of plastic and not glass. Ironic since the vintage faceted glass lamp I bought in February was made of real glass and was a dollar cheaper. Nonetheless, for a child's room, I think that this $4 plastic lamp will be perfect.
In addition to having a soft spot for glass lamps (and plastic ones), I am also drawn to vintage tins. This large tin was .99 cents. I love the spring feeling it has AND, I think it might be a perfect addition to Grace's birthday party (yes, I am planning her party already!).
In hopes of tempting Spring to bring us more warm days, I bought a new
to me summer dress for $3.99. I am ready to put my jeans away for the
year and pull out my flip flops and summer dresses.
Finally, though not a Goodwill find, I collected 13 dainty, flowery handkerchiefs from a local flea market. Along with Spring, flea market season has also started. What, might you ask, do I plan on doing with 13 vintage hankies? You'll have to wait and see!
What great deals have you gotten this past month?
Until next month, happy thrifting!
That dress is adorable. I always forget to clothes shop for myself. Great finds!

ReplyDeleteYay for spring dresses and can't wait to see what you do with those handkerchiefs!
ReplyDeleteLove the hankies (I'm a collector of those too) and I am super curious about your secret!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the medallion too!
be still my beating heart...love those jars + the hankies. brings back memories of my wedding day! i will say that was one good roundup!
ReplyDeleteomgosh they are all awesome!! isn't it crazy the whole lamp thing - glass cheaper than plastic just their crazy pricing againg! omw - that ceiling medallion for a $1!? the hankies are beautiful, my friend collected hers from her and her hubby's family and then used them as a valance in her kitchen - it was darling, can't wait to see what you do with them. did u get my email?
ReplyDeletesuper cute, I'm on the same page. summer dresses <3
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE the vintage hankies and can't wait to see what brilliant idea you have for them! I wish I could visit and flea market with you - I don't think there are many around here :(
ReplyDeleteLove the hankies, I'm intrigued as to what you might be using them for. I have tried every where to get a ceiling medallion so I'm jealous even if it is plastic, Annie will do her work. Great finds.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds Amy! I love the medallion - and Annie Sloan will make it look even more wonderful I think :) I'd snap up a medallion too if I saw one for sale at goodwill!
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see what you have up your sleeve with the hankies. :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds, thank you for sharing.
I love the Wedding Mason Jar idea. Another thing I will need to do for our niece's wedding.
ReplyDeleteYour Goodwill finds are always so amazing! That dress is super cute, and a milk bottle!?!? Oh, the potential. I think that a plastic lamp for Grace's room make sense - if she knocks it over, it won't have to be "Caution-taped" off while you look for every small tiny shard of glass.
ReplyDeleteWhat will you do with the tin? I'm dying to know!
Looks like you had a great month at Goodwill! :) I love it all. I got some vintage hankies at the flea market, recently, too... they look a lot like your's. I'm using them in my daughter's party decor (and her birthday is in October, so don't feel badly for planning early! haha!)... I can't wait to see all of the finished products! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are making a valance out of those hankies. I saw one and loved it. But of course if you use it to blow your nose I'd probably still think it was cute.

ReplyDeleteGreat finds! My fave is the tin... LOVE it!! And of course I have a thing for hankies, so I can't wait to see what you make out of them!
ReplyDeleteYay for the mason jar finds ... can't wait to see your sewing kit or wedding emergency kit!
