Chalk Board Gift Tags

Tis' the season for gift wrapping.

We all know, it's all about the packaging.  Why not start your wrapping with some reusable chalk board tags?

Head over to your local hobby store and check out the wooden shapes they have.  I bought mine for less than .40 cents a piece.  They have some really cool shapes, like the United States {one would think I might have a United States obsession, I assure you, I do not}.

Either you or your talented assistant can drill a hole into your wooden shape, to allow for a ribbon or twine to be looped through later.

Using some Chalk Board Spray Paint, give both the front and the back of the wooden shapes 2 coats of coverage.

Once dry, you have a blank canvas.

Grab some ribbon and some chalk.  Fill out your gift tag and attach it to a beautifully wrapped gift.

It doesn't even need to be on a Christmas gift.

I'll *chalk* this up to a Christmas miracle that at least 2 more presents are wrapped.

And the wrapping continues...

Like most parents {I hope}, we have been reminding Grace that Santa is watching in hopes that any bad behavior will be quickly corrected.

So, when I started wrapping her gifts, I loved the idea of incorporating that in her gift tags.

Just another reminder that he knows if you've been good or bad...so be good for goodness sake.

And you better not cry.

I just found some pictures I wanted to use, pulled them into Picnik {a free photo editing website}, added the text and then printed them out on card stock.

And, we can't forget, the most famous reindeer of all.

I wish I were done but...

The wrapping continues.

These are a few of my favorite things - Gift Tags

There are some great gift tag options floating around the blogs. These are a few of my favorites.

I am a big fan of felt and monograms so it should come as no surprise that these monogrammed family ornaments by Made make the list.

Not only are they easy to make but they are also a great way to add that personalized homemade touch to your gifts {or tree}.

Centsational Girl provides a very detailed tutorial to make these felt poinsettias.

You could add your felt poinsettia to a gift, embellish a stocking or even a add it to a pillow.

I saw this next idea on pinterest. You can either buy them through Etsy or make your own. Either way, aren't they an adorable topper to your gift?

I've already raided Home Depot's paint sample aisle!

I'd believe any gift topped with this tag came directly from Santa.

Home Grown Hospitality uses a Helen Keller quote to top their gifts.

In addition to the sentiment, I adore the addition of the felt heart to this tag.

I heart these chalk board heart gift tags sold on Etsy from Rustic Blend.

I'd love to receive a gift with these reusable heart gift tags.

Brown paper packages tied up with strings...or in this case, Man Made shows you how to address your gifts with typographic gift wrap.

So simple but so graphic.

I love the idea of using a picture for a gift tag. In the age of digital, most of my pictures remain on my computer, what a great excuse to look through them, print them out and have them be appreciated.

I can't wait to impress everyone on my gift giving list with these original gift tags/toppers.
