A box arrived.

A nearly 50 pound box arrived at our house this week. It looked like this...

The inside of the box, which included a sheet of instructions of which the first line read: DO NOT PANIC, looked something like this...

In case you haven't already guessed what it is, it's a dollhouse! When it's done, it's supposed to look like this...

This will lovingly be put together by my husband as a gift for Grace's 4th birthday.

I am a little worried that by the time it's done, my handsome husband will look like this...

But it will all be worth it because I know that when Grace sees it, she'll look like this...

    1. I am not sure who is going to love it more, me or Grace. Dave might have to build me my own!

  2. What an amazing gift, she is going to cherish this. Something made by dad makes it that much more special

    1. Thank you! We are definitely hoping the motivation of creating something that will be treasured for many years will propel us forward in the building process.

    1. Thanks Sue! It's funny, I don't feel panicked, probably because I don't have to put it together :)

  4. Thanks for stopping over to Sweetwater Style. I am a new follower of yours. While you are loads younger than I am, I think we have much in common! Good luck with the dollhouse. And yes...I am a midwesterner...Minneapolis, not Chicago...but I do love CHicago! Happy thrifting!

  5. LOL! Cute post:D Did the instructions really say "Do Not Panic"..LOL! Can't wait to see the finished project! I don't think my husband will be able to pull it off. I'm still waiting for him to put together a play kitchen from last year!

    1. Maysem, he has until the end of May. Hopefully it will be done by then :). Maybe we should have our husbands compete and see who could finish their projects first dollhouse vs play kitchen {maybe the competitive nature will work to our advantage}.
