JOY Burlap Sign

Joy to my front porch...oh yes, and to the world.

My JOY started like this, a $1.99 Goodwill frame.

I took apart my frame, grabbed some left over burlap I had and some Easy Tack adhesive.

I sprayed the back of the board from the frame and attached the burlap.

I drew the letters out on paper, traced them in pencil onto the burlap

and hand painted JOY in red acrylic paint.

When it dried, I put it back in the frame and put it outside for all my neighbors to admire :)

JOY.

Update:  Since last year, and because of our growing barn wood collection, the woodaholic made a beautiful custom barn wood frame for the JOY sign.

  8. How simple and charming! I've been changing up our decorations this year to be more natural and this is right up my alley! So FYI, I will be stealing this idea because after all, imitation (or in this case being a copy cat!) is the highest form of flattery! Happy Christmas to you and your family :o)

  20. This is great! I love a Goodwill find myself so I adore how you transformed this. I do have to say that I feel behind the crafting curve since I've never used burlap and I see it being used a lot in crafting. Maybe I should start with something like this...thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Thank you so much Angela. Don't feel as if you are too far behind the crafting curve. I just started using burlap a month or two ago :)
