To make a garland of stars, gather the following supplies: stars cut from white cardstock, thread and a sewing machine.
I thread my bobbin with red thread and used blue on the spool, to give my white stars a patriot feel. Push the stars through your sewing machine, one at a time, until you have the length of garland you want.
When you've finished, hang it up and admire.
It blows my mind that you can sew cardstock. I never would have attempted that! So cute!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! And as far as Christmas it is 6 months from yesterday. :)
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to sew non-fabric materials. You need a special needle?
ReplyDeleteI love sewing with paper! These are cute enough to leave up all year long. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Erin!
DeleteLove it. I really want to sew paper... but I'm such a sissy. Does it ever go sideways on you? (Tell me no, so I'll actually attempt it!)
ReplyDeleteLooks fab! I haven't attempted sewing on paper yet, really must pluck up the courage soon :)

Oh Amy, you are so much more technical than I will ever be :). I suppose you might want to use a separate needle for paper though, to be honest, I work my machine like a horse and expect the unexpected from it always. The cardstock is thicker than normal paper but not too heavy of a weight.
ReplyDeleteI love it, I want to do this for Christmas and sewing with paper...wait till you see what I have been up to...we really are crafting twins I have had paper on the machine for something entirely different :)
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I love it! And I want some!
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to get me to break Damien out of the cabinet? This is adorable...and tempting!
ReplyDeleteI love this for either holiday!! If I wasn't camping this weekend, this would be a project for me and the girls....but wait, thinking they could cut stars WHILE we are camping...I need some card stock asap.
ReplyDeleteI loved this so much, I tried it out with my "new" machine. I love it. I posted about it here: http://shabbybrocante.blogspot.com/2013/06/sew-i-finally-found-one.html
ReplyDeleteI love your blog so so much!
