I had vowed to avoid Goodwill this week and I failed.
Yep, I bought myself a chair.
The best part, she {yes, this beautiful chair is a lovely lady} was only $3.99.
Even though she needs some TLC can't you see how sexy she is? I mean look at those legs and that tufting.
When I showed my husband this beauty, he responded, 'Oh, you bought a chair.'
Um, what I am sure he meant to say was, 'Amy, I can't believe you found that stunning chair for just $4. She's lovely, just like you'.
At least someone appreciates this chair as much as I do...

Goodwill Hunting Roundup
Yes, it's time again for another Goodwill Hunting Roundup. I couldn't be happier with the deals I found this month. You never know what you are going to find and that's what keeps me going back.
When I saw this globe, I couldn't get it in my shopping cart quick enough. I was in disbelief that no one had grabbed it before I had a chance. This globe is in perfect condition and has a solid wood base. Are you ready for this, I paid $3.99 for it.
My husband has developed an interest in English pond boats. He found a few on Ebay that are admittedly very cool. So, when I saw this mini knock off of an English pond boat for $1.99, I thought I might win a few brownie points and impress my husband with my find.
For $2.99, this metal gardening basket brought a huge smile to my face. I have been hoping to stumble upon one of these. Thanks to pinterest, I've been inspired to, hopefully, hang this in my kitchen and fill it with fresh fruit.
When I saw this adorable houndstooth mod dress for $1.99 {it was originally $3.99 but it was orange tag day SO it was half off}, I decided it would be an adorable addition to Grace's wardrobe.
This chair is ah-mazing. I spied someone walking around contemplating buying it, which, of course, made me want it even more. As soon as I saw they were going to pass up this beautiful chair, I claimed it for my own for $4.99.
I picked up this little bird for .99 cents and this picture frame for .49 cents AND they just so happen to be a nice addition for Valentines.
I am a sucker for anything white that can be added to my kitchen. This fluted dish was only $1.99. It was too pretty to pass up, plus it makes my sugar cookies look even more tempting.
Ok, confession time, I am a HUGE fan of American Pickers. They are always taking about finding things that are 'a piece of Americana' SO when I found a vintage Morton Salt trivet for .49 cents I decided it was a piece of Americana I needed to own.
I scour the toy/game aisle each trip I make to Goodwill. This past month, I actually bought Grace her first Ken doll for .99 cents {no picture, sorry}. All the Barbies were so excited, they found themselves fighting over who was going to marry him.
I also found a set of Circus Animal Lacing Cards for $1.99. They have a cool, vintage feel to them. It won the Oppenheim best toy award {bonus!}. What made it an even better find, it was in perfect condition.
Last but certainly not least. I had been thinking about buying an overhead projector. I have a growing list of overhead projector projects. I wasn't sure I wanted to invest $30 in a projector {which seems to be on average how much they run at a thrift store}. Lo and behold, this Elmo projector was listed for $24.99 BUT I stumbled upon it on a day when all pink tags were half off SO for $12.50 it was too good to pass up. I can't wait to start creating!
If you still haven't hit your local Goodwill {or even if you have and were hoping for a few new tips}, head over to Thrifty Like Me {someone equally as excited about thrifting as I am} to read her 7 tips for scoring at Goodwill. Then head out to Goodwill and score some good deals for yourself.
Happy thrifting!

Goodwill Hunting Roundup
Flea Market season has come to an end for the year. So the thrifts stores have my undivided attention.
For .49 cents, I found these Hallmark cookie cutters. They were still in the original package. I can only imagine they are from the 70s. I love the mushroom. They are perfect for play dough and we might even use them to make some salt dough ornaments.
I bought this pear for $3.99. I am toying with the idea of spray painting it because...
It reminded me of a pear I recently pinned on pinterest from Antropologie for $148.
For $1.99 I bought this apothecary jar and, in Nate Burkus fashion, am now displaying a few of my scarves inside.
I have been in need for a new makeup bag. So, when I stumbled upon this Bath and Body Works bag for $2.99, I knew it was meant to be.
Ever wonder if I check out Goodwill's clothes? The answer, without a doubt. You never know what you'll find.
Goodwill goes through their donations prior to putting them out for sale. So, you won't find stained, torn or worn out clothing. I have found a number of things that are still brand new with the tags or that have dry cleaning tags affixed.
This is probably my favorite find. For $4.99, I loved the vintage feel. I also loved the inside of the coat as much as the outside. I just got to wear this on a recent date night with my handsome husband.
Jackets must have been on my radar this month because I also found this little coat for $3.99.
For $4.99, I thought this black jacket from Express would look adorable with a pair of jeans. I am sure, even on clearance, this jacket never was $4.99.
With the holidays coming up, this faux fur jacket for only $5.99, could be the perfect finishing touch for my holiday outfits.
With a blog called, While Wearing Heels, it shouldn't surprise you that I peruse the shoe section. I added these Ann Klein shoes for $4.99. The soles were in perfect condition.
I have been thinking of adding a pair of bold red shoes to my wardrobe. I am sure I'll only wear them a few times SO when I came across these for $4.99 I know I won't feel any guilt about only wearing them a few times.
If you haven't checked out the clothes at your local thrift store, give them a chance and take a look.
A few tips to consider before diving in. Be familiar with brands, there are some unbelievable deals to be had. Grab anything that catches your eye, you can always go through your cart and edit when you are done shopping. Turn over can be quick so if you think you might like it, grab it. Be prepared to look through the racks, it may seem overwhelming but that's where you'll find those hidden gems.

Goodwill Hunting Roundup
In efforts to inspire you to check out your local flea market or thrift store, or encourage you to keep going back, I wanted to share some of what I found in the past 30 days.
My flea market finds from the past 30 days.
At the exact same moment in time, my husband and I both caught sight of this large wooden airplane propeller. It was one of those love at first sight moments. Not having to negotiate to hard, we were able to purchase this propeller for $20. It now sits on top of a collection of travel books I picked up from Goodwill.
You may notice a trend, we also bought a silver model airplane for $10. I love that the propeller and wheels spin.
Our collection of letterpress block letters is rapidly growing. My eye is always drawn to booths that sell them. The countless booths I've seen letterpress letters, I have never seen a roller before. I asked the owner of the booth how much for the roller. When she responded $9 for the bowl, all the letters and the roller, I couldn't believe it. I've paid $5 for one letter before and this bowl was filled with letters and a few numbers.
So for $9, I didn't feel bad getting rid of the bowl and using a round glass vase I already had.
Where I am always drawn to letters, my husband likes to look at the old tools. When he gets sucked into an old tool booth, I usually roam BUT when he found this vintage folding ruler and negotiated $8 for it, I had to agree it was kind of cool. It helps that I recently saw these rulers used as wall decorations on the Land of Nod's blog.
I have been actively looking for wooden Scrabble tiles. I have seen so many cool projects using Scrabble tiles BUT it seems like everyone else has as well because I never find the wooden version...until recently. I guess you only need to find it once, right? This was another time, when I asked how much for the tiles and I was told I could have the tiles and the bottle for $11, I could not walk away or negotiate on the price.
Moving on to my Goodwill Finds from the past 30 days.
Though not the wooden tiles I was looking for, when I saw this travel Scrabble apple for .49 cents, I decided to get it for Grace. It was too cute to pass up. If you haven't noticed, I heart fake food so Scrabble in apple form spoke to me.
One of my favorite memories, from my childhood, was packing a picnic, sitting courtside with my sister, watching my parents play tennis. Selfishly, when I saw this picnic basket for $1.99, I wanted Grace to have it, hoping she could use it and create her own happy memories.
I've already taken Grace on a picnic, putting our *er, I mean her* new basket to use.
For .99 cents each, $3 total, I knew these flower hooks were too good to pass up. Two of the hooks were from Land of Nod and are still currently for sale in the store for $12.95 a piece.
Not a favorite of my husband's BUT what I am sure would have the potential to wow Nate Berkus, I found a few lamps. I am sure with the right shades, they will be amazing.
I got this lamp for $3.99.
And these 2 lamps were $2.99 each, $6 total.
You never know what treasures you'll find or what memories they'll stir up. Happy Shopping!
