Dear Newlyweds
While on my honeymoon {6 years ago}, I filled out and mailed a postcard to myself.
If you want to see what I finally decided to do with it, head over to Bonbon Break and take a look.
And, while you are there, why not submit your own post for consideration.

Sundried Tomato Crescent Rolls
This is really 'Sundried Tomato Croissant Rolls by While Wearing Heels' Husband'. It's something my husband will prepare for me for my birthday and our anniversary.
This recipe is so easy, even your husband can make it :)
Ingredients:
Sun Dried Tomatoes
Crescent Rolls
Parmesan Cheese
Unroll the crescent rolls. Places about 3-4 sundried tomatoes lengthwise on the croissant roll. Sprinkle with some Parmesan cheese and roll them up. Drizzle some olive oil or the oil from the sun dried tomatoes and sprinkle with a little extra cheese. Set on a cookie sheet.
Heat oven to 375 degrees and bake for about 12 minutes.
Serve with some fresh fruit...
And enjoy every last bite.

Goodwill Hunting Roundup
It's that time again, where I share my latest thrifty finds.
Do you remember the storm I was caught in where I thought I was going to die? If not, I was stuck in Goodwill, as a micro-burst came through. I mentioned there were people still shopping during the power outage and hurricane like weather. I have a small confession. As I was preparing to die, I was clutching this $4.99 dress in my hands. I figured, I could either be buried in it or wear it to my cousin's wedding.
All my other finds were bought in storm free conditions like this $4.99 bebe dress. It looked ho-hum on the hanger but when I put it on, I loved it. I also bought the black beaded necklace for $1.99. Seriously, who would guess this was a Goodwill outfit?
I also found a really great pair of Gap trousers for $4.99. They are grey with a bit of pinstriping. They are a little long but that can easily be fixed. The shoes, I also bought from Goodwill, months ago, Anne Kline probably for $4.99. And, though not from Goodwill, the top was from Marshalls for $12.99. Can you tell, I love a good deal?
But, I didn't just buy clothes, for myself, I also bought this heavy round vase. It's about 8 inches across in diameter. For .50 cents, I couldn't pass it up.
And this white bowl for .99 cents. I thought it had a nautical feel. I am still not sure exactly where I'll put it or what will go in it.
Then there was this giant D for .99 cents {still in the box}. Are you wondering why I would need a giant D. I actually don't. I gave it to my sister. See, I am a giver :)
And, last but not least. As you all know, I just threw a ROCK a-bye-baby shower. It was as if the Goodwill fairies were watching out for me because a week before the baby shower, this professional pink child's guitar was there waiting...for me. For $5.99, it was the PERFECT accessory to the baby shower.
In other Goodwill related news. Next week, I am meeting a fellow blogger {whom I've never met before}, Erin from Just*Grand at Goodwill. I am hoping I don't have to throw an elbow in her direction over a .99 cent vase, that would probably be bad for fostering blogging relationships, right?

Rock A-Bye-Baby Shower
Less than 24 hours after Grace's circus party, I was asked to plan...
Erin is my husband's cousin. When he found out, I was going to plan another party, he looked something like this...
Ok, so he didn't look exactly like that but you get the point.
The shower was really low key, it was during a family reunion and held in my mother in-law's living room. Easy enough, right?
I decided on a ROCK a-bye-baby theme because the expectant parents love music.
Using some scrap book paper, I created paper records and spelled out ROCK a bye baby and strung it up.
Remember these custom onesies that I made?
I strung them up on clothes line.
I also found some Hello Kitty socks that I turned into baby leg warmers.
I loved the idea of using the custom onesies as decorations.
I made some fabric covered Japanese lanterns {thanks to my glue gun, I burned my fingerprints off while making} which we suspended from fishing line. The pink guitar {a Goodwill find, I stumbled upon a week before the shower} was also suspended with fishing line.
Since the dad to be is both a singer and guitar player, the rock themed baby shower also took on an unofficial guitar theme as well.
I included the same rhinestones from the guitar onesie on the paper guitars and used them as decorations around the room.
And what ROCK themed baby shower would be complete without rock candy.
I also liked the idea of having a band poster promoting the premiere of their baby girl. Thanks to Poster My World, I was able to design a poster of my own.
And, there were a few games. 'Name That Baby' using only the letters in the mom and dad's first and middle names.
And, guess when the baby will be born calendar.
My favorite touch was still the VIP All Access Passes for the mom and dad to be.
So, even though the parents to be had a great time. I think for the sake of my marriage, I'll take a break from party planning, at least for another week or two :)

Baby Shower Calendar
Thanks to pinterest, I came across a hand drawn 'Guess when the baby will be born' calendar by It's An Occasion. Seriously, what a brilliant idea.
I knew I wanted to incorporate this idea but I didn't want mine to be hand drawn so...
Using Calendar Wizard in Word, I created a custom calendar. Calendar Wizard allows you to completely customize your calendar by selecting fonts, colors and text. Ehow has a great step by step tutorial, if you are unfamiliar with Calendar Wizard.
I decided to add a pink outline around the baby's due date so the guests knew when science predicted the baby to be born. You can do this by inserting a text box and selecting pink as the shape outline.
When I had the calendar customized to the point I was happy with, I printed it out on 8 1/2 by 11 paper. I took that paper into Kinko's and enlarged and printed it on 12 x 14 card stock.
During the shower, guests used the baby feet stamp and the pink ink {pink because they are having a girl} and filled in their guesses.
Such an easy addition to any baby shower that will be sure to have a BIG impact.

Baby Shower Backstage Passes
When planning a ROCK a bye baby shower, it's the little details that will truly leave the parents to be feeling like rock stars.
These DIY ultrasound picture backstage baby shower 'All Access' VIP passes not only will make the parents to be feel like rockers but are also a great keepsake.
To get started gather the following supplies:
Lanyard {I found mine at Office Depot}
Badge holder
Pic-Monkey {or photoshop}
Your imagination
Since this is a baby shower, celebrating the 'premiere' of the baby to be, I wanted to make sure the passes I designed used one of the couples' ultrasound pictures.
I imported their ultrasound picture into PicMonkey, converted it to black and white and added a border to the bottom of the picture
Then, I played around with adding some color, text and stars. This is where you can get creative and let your imagination inspire you.
When you have a design you are happy with, print it out {I used copy paper}, trim it down, insert it into your badge, clip it to your lanyard and there you have it custom backstage passes.
The passes were then given to the proud mom and dad to be...who, after all, are the only ones that truly need 'all access' to their baby to be.
Baby Ultrasound Picture VIP ALL ACCESS Passes.
A unique shower accessory for a 'rockin' baby shower.

Rock the Transfer Paper
If you haven't already guessed, I decided on a ROCK themed baby shower.
The daddy to be is in a guitar player in a band. I knew without a doubt, I wanted to take the logo from his band
and put it onto a onesie. You're never too young to be a groupie, right?
I had one more onesie to transform, so thanks to pinterest I was inspired to make this one as well.
Both were created using transfer paper. The possibilities are literally endless.
As long as you are able to master creating a mirrored image, using transfer paper is incredibly easy.
You can see a detailed tutorial on how to use transfer paper from when I made this birth date onesie.
4 custom onesies for under $10. The onesies were on sale at Walmart for $1.50 each. I paid just under $3 for the Rit DYE and I already had the transfer paper.
Not only was I able to create a unique baby gift with these onesies, I also used them as decorations for the baby shower...but that sneak peak will have to wait :)
