These felt snow globe ornaments were inspired by Kate Spade's snow globe gift tags. How cute are they?
They are printed on 100% cotton paper and sold in a set of 9 {3 of each design} for $12. The only problem {besides that I can't justify spending $12 on 9 gift tags} is that they should be made out of something more sustainable than paper because they are so darn cute.
When I saw these, I immediately thought, I should make these out of felt.
So that's exactly what I did.
I think they are just about as cute as Kate Spade's version...
The possibilities of personalizing these snow globes are endless.
Like Kate Spade's gift tags, these can be used as a gift tag...
but are also sustainable enough to then use as a Christmas ornament. I just love the thought of adding something homemade to the top of a beautifully wrapped Christmas present.
Love it! I would never have the patience to make these! You do such amazing work! Great job.
ReplyDeleteHaaha! How adorable! I just want to hug them. Start with parsley Amy because it is the easiest herb.
ReplyDeleteI agree they are as good as the kate spade version. I just love these I love how you give us such wonderful inspiration my friend. Thank you
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! These are super cute. What a great way to document travels and special places at Christmas .
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Erin.
DeleteGreat idea. I like the idea to use travel ... and everyone has a destination they dream of visiting. :-)
ReplyDeleteExactly! Thanks so much Carla.
DeleteSo very cute. That's a heck of a lot of embroidery though. I'd have to be watching a Pride and prejudice marathon or something to make them. I wonder what I'd do for Utah...oh Delicate Arch would be pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love it I've been waiting for the felt decorations, I am slightly miffed that in your dreams Melbourne is not there :P
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy. Even though I know they are felt, I still want to give them a good shake :)
ReplyDeleteOkay Kate Spade's are adorable but yours are so much cooler! I love that you took an idea and made it better... much better! I would so pay $12 for a set of your ornaments (and dare I say even more;))... especially with all the handwork you did!! You always amaze me with the details of your felt creations!!
ReplyDeleteI love these Amy! Especially the Paris one!! I have seriously got to get myself doing some projects with felt this winter. It's always wonderful when a gift tag is a gift as well. I think yours are better than Kate Spade's because the felt is more durable and will last longer. Just fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOh Amy, those are just wonderful! I love that you put the Bean on the Chicago one! Did you design them yourself? I think these are my favorite felt project yet! I say yet..because you are after all the queen of all things felt. I'm probably going to have to try a felt project one of these days and you are setting the bar really high!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I admit I had no idea what the Chicago emblem was, looks like a jelly bean:)-
ReplyDeleteI agree with Maysem, def worth buying, much more so than gift tags that people would only throw away. Your work is amazing, as usual:)
You always make the best felt projects. Kate Spade may be my favorite purses...but their tags have nothing on your cute ornaments. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI love Kate Spade - and your version of these ornaments is just as good - no, better! - than the original! Pinned (of course!)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, soooo much better than Kate Spade's version! I love that you used felt and hand embroidered. What a great job of all the cities! In your Etsy shop?
