Spider Barrette Tutorial

Looking for a fun and easy way to accessorize for Halloween?  Look no further than these spider barrettes.

The best part, this easy spider barrette can be made in less than 5 minutes.

To make your own, grab a barrette, a spider ring and some hot glue.

Dissect your spider ring (cut the ring off the spider).

Apply hot glue to the end of the barrette.

Attach your spider.

Once the glue has dried, clip it and proudly show off your adorable...I mean, spooky spider barrette.

Carrot Popcorn Holders

When throwing a bunny themed birthday party, carrots are a necessity, right?

Well, maybe not actual carrots.

To make your carrots, gather the following supplies:  orange and green paper, scissors, tape and chop sticks.

Cut out a cone shape out of your orange paper and a carrot stem topper out of the green paper.  Using tape, secure the cone closed.  Tape the bottom of the carrot stem into the orange cone.

Clip the tip of the cone making a hole slightly smaller than the width of the chop stick.  Insert the chop stick into the cone and pull it out through the bottom of the cone.  Tape the bottom of the cone closed, securing the chop stick into place.

Then, if you happen to be a blogger, you fill the carrot holders with popcorn and you take pictures.  If you happen to be a blogger that has a dog, well...beware, your photo shoot may be interrupted.

If you aren't worried about taking pictures, just fill your cones with popcorn and enjoy.

They are the perfect addition to any bunny themed birthday party or Easter!

Decoupage Vase

Spring is FINALLY in the air.  Daffodils are blooming and vases are waiting to be filled.  Plain glass vases.  Plain glass vases that can easily be transformed from drab to fab.

Want to transform your own drab vase to a fab vase?

Gather the following supplies:  a glass vase, decorative paper {I purchased mine from JoAnn Fabric}, scissors, paint brush, Mod Podge and flowers.

Start by trimming the paper down to an appropriate size for the vase.

Spray the back of the paper with Easy Tack Adhesive to help secure it into place.  *I learned this the hard way.

When your paper is securely in place, apply at least 2 coats of Mod Podge over the decorative paper.

Patiently wait for the Mod Podge to dry.

Then, fill your vase with some beautiful flowers and admire.

And...this vase and those beautiful daffodils really do make me happy 'just because'.
