Happy Valentine's Day!
I have a special place in my heart for Valentine's Day and it may not be for the reason you would suspect either. The 'L' word has very little to do with it...
3 years ago, just before Christmas, I got laid off. The company I worked for lost a big account, as a result I lost my job and found myself trying to figure out how to adapt to life at home.
Though I had always wanted to be a stay at home mom, the shock of it occurring on someone else's terms left me feeling unprepared and being eliminated from a company I had worked at for years shook my confidence.
Thanks to the many amazing blogs that are out there, I found a creative outlet that had otherwise gone untapped. These blogs inspired me, challenged me and gave me hope. As a result I felt like a more confident and capable mom and wife.
Eventually, this led to the birth of While Wearing Heels...
I can now look back on what was a devastating blow and see the blessings that resulted. I adore being home making memories with my beautiful daughter, naughty little dog and thoughtful husband and sharing some of the fun we are having through While Wearing Heels.
So I humbly thank you for reading my blog and I wish you a very happy Valentine's day.

I'm back.
I'm back.
This past week, I felt very pensive.
Not only did I have the blogging blues...
I also had the first day of preschool blues.
I enjoyed being quiet...
I enjoyed being present in the firsts of last week.
Like Grace's first hair cut.
And her first day of preschool. Which she confidentially approached and immediately loved.
Which I, on the other hand, did not feel as confident about. I instead felt sad, watching the first in many milestones Grace would be experiencing without me.
So, I made myself some chocolate chip cookies. The best chocolate chips cookies I have ever made. And I, shamelessly, ate them for lunch 2 days in a row.
I finally got around to planting a few succulents.
I also finished another Daisychain ABC Crewelwork Sampler. If anyone is counting, this is the third one I have made.
And, I contemplated the direction of my blog.
I had received my first unproductive comment on my facebook page, two weeks ago. As a result, I questioned whether or not to continue blogging.
Where I wavered about what I would do, contemplating calling it quits, I received supportive and sweet emails encouraging me to continue.
So, as my week off concluded, I realized...
I will continue to blog, while wearing heels...because it makes me happy.

While Wearing Heels is Ready for the Party!
Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party 2012!
I'm Amy, the woman wearing the heels at While Wearing Heels.
Ok, so to be completely honest, these days, someone else is wearing my heels more than I am.
They are usually being worn by my adorable 3 year old...
OR eaten by my mischievous doggie.
So, whether wearing my heels or not, I enjoy being creative. I guess you could say I am a 'versatile' crafter BUT really that just means that I have a crafter's version of attention deficit disorder.
When I am not making fake food {which I happily share in free tutorials}...
I enjoy trying {and sharing} lots and lots of different projects...
Though I like to try a little bit of everything, I definitely do not have a green thumb, so I improvise.
I am sure a major reason I suffer from crafter attention deficit disorder is because there are so many wonderful and inspiring blogs that I stumble upon. I look forward to being inspired by your blog next.
Thanks for stopping by!
