Felt Peeps Finger Puppet Tutorial

Peeps.  They aren't just for Easter anymore.

Learn to make these colorful felt Peeps finger puppets with this easy to follow tutorial.  Throw them in an Easter basket or make them just for fun.

Grab some Peep colored felts.  Stick with the standard yellow or branch out with some fun colors.

Using this Peep pattern (found below):
Cut 2 Peeps per each 1 finger puppet you want to make.

Find coordinating colored thread and a needle (or use glue if you want to attempt a no-sew option)

And sew the two Peep sections together.  Remember to leave the base of your Peep unsewn.

Get some brown paint (any kind will do) and a pencil with an eraser.

Dab your eraser into the brown paint and then dab onto the front of your Peeps to make the eyes and nose.

Once dried, enjoy your new Peeps finger puppet.

The question is, to Peep or not to Peep...I think it's obvious what the answer should be.

To Peep, of course.

Barn Wood Bunnies

Not every bunny can be the Easter bunny.

Some bunnies have a less than famous story, perhaps a more rustic story.  This bunny, well, he has a barn wood story.

His story started in a pile that looked like this.

Who knew, in that pile of barn wood, there would be a lucky rabbit's foot.

Who knew that those barn wood nails, once removed, would make the perfect bunny eye.

Who knew that every time I turned around, these bunnies would be multipling...like rabbits :)

Not every bunny can be the Easter bunny but a bunny can still dream.

This barn wood bunny is off to deliver some eggs to my Etsy shop, while he waits for someone to buy him.

Felt Bunny Ornaments

A few weeks ago, I pinned the cutest felt bunny ornaments.   If you hadn't already guessed after the bunny party extravaganza we threw, bunnies have special meaning to our family...So, I knew I had to make a few bunny ornaments of my own.

The french knot snow falling around the bunnies along with the simple dress and flower hair accessory, adds to their sweet appeal.

The simple design offers plenty of opportunity for you to add your own unique touches.

And, that's just what I did.  Tomorrow I'll share how these sweet bunnies inspired a tree filled with homemade woodland ornaments.

Bunny Themed Punch Box

Pinatas, with all their stick wielding fun, have been a popular party pass time.  'A Casarella, though, is doing her best to take down pinatas and replace them with punch boxes and she isn't even using a stick to do it.  Her tutorial for making your own punch punch has gone viral and I can see why.

Instead of getting a bunny shaped pinata, and subjecting said bunny pinata with a lashing, we decided to make a bunny themed punch pox for Grace's Bunny Themed Birthday Party.

I decided to share just a few tips for making your own punch box (for the full tutorial, you'll have to visit 'a Casarella).

Finding a thick box is the key, it makes it easier to cut your holes and cover.  I found my boxes at Aldi, the thick cardboard boxes their produce comes in AND, I painted it white, with regular household paint.

To personalize the outside of your punch box, incorporate your theme.  Since Grace's party was a bunny theme, I cut out some 2 inch bunny silhouettes and grabbed double sided tape...

And I gently placed them centered in the punch box hole.

Though I used bunnies, the possibilities are endless to personalize the punch box but even plain, it still makes for a fun party game.

The kids, well, they certainly liked being encouraged to 'punch' something and retrieve a prize.

*I filled the punch box with prizes I found at Goodwill.  Right after Easter, Goodwill got in a shipment of new Target brand Easter toys (stuffed animals and crafts).  I was able to find a prize for each punch box hole for  .50 cents, spending $6 total on prizes.

This is our second year of opting to go pinatas-less and I suspected, though I haven't started to plan for next year's party yet, that we'll have a punch box for Grace's 6th birthday as well.

Carrot Popcorn Holders

When throwing a bunny themed birthday party, carrots are a necessity, right?

Well, maybe not actual carrots.

To make your carrots, gather the following supplies:  orange and green paper, scissors, tape and chop sticks.

Cut out a cone shape out of your orange paper and a carrot stem topper out of the green paper.  Using tape, secure the cone closed.  Tape the bottom of the carrot stem into the orange cone.

Clip the tip of the cone making a hole slightly smaller than the width of the chop stick.  Insert the chop stick into the cone and pull it out through the bottom of the cone.  Tape the bottom of the cone closed, securing the chop stick into place.

Then, if you happen to be a blogger, you fill the carrot holders with popcorn and you take pictures.  If you happen to be a blogger that has a dog, well...beware, your photo shoot may be interrupted.

If you aren't worried about taking pictures, just fill your cones with popcorn and enjoy.

They are the perfect addition to any bunny themed birthday party or Easter!
