The sweet little girl below started kindergarten with a quiet bravery.
Where Grace bravely entered kindergarten, with no tears, confidently going to a new school, confidently meeting new friends, I struggled. This was a big step for me in letting her go. But, I watched her confidence and her quiet bravery and I learned from her.
This past year, Grace learned to read and write. She learned how to do a push up and run a mile! She learned how to navigate life (if only in a small part) without me.
And, I learned to sit back and proudly watch her shine.
Happy summer! You made it mom! This makes me smile for the both of you.
ReplyDeleteOh Amy, I know how hard it is. My son Sam turned 14 in April. Growing up!! Atticus is 12, he still likes his snuggles.
ReplyDeleteI have to be brave too and slowly let go.
I love how you wrote this post. Very well done.
Carla
