Perhaps you noticed, quite unexpectedly and without any notice, I took a blogging break.
I suffered a severe case of crafter's block which was probably brought on for a few reasons...
My sweet Grace needed to have major dental work done.
I'm a worrier by nature so though my brave girl did great, the whole experience took its toll on me emotionally and mentally.
Then, I noticed a painful lump under my arm.
Again, the worrier in me, had manifested this lump into what I was sure was going to be a death sentence. Thankfully, after a few weeks of doctor's appointments and tests, I received a clean bill of health.
I was reminded that...
While on my blogging sabbatical, I eased back into crafting, when Grace's teacher asked me if I was 'creative'. When I replied 'yes', I was then enlisted to help make costumes for the kindergarten play.
to a little girl, whom I had only ever seen as a dancer.
And, that little girl turned 6!
So, of course, I had to plan a birthday party to celebrate.
And in a week's time, Grace will have graduated from kindergarten and will be on her way to becoming a first grader...who will go to school all day long.
Though I've been busy and distracted with real life worries the past month or two, I'm still wearing heels and I'm crafting again.
Thank you for sticking around, for your support and for your sweet emails.
I'm baaaack!
oh I am so happy to see you back! I have missed you!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
ReplyDeleteTime flies, she's already 6 and on her way to 1st grade! I definitely missed you!!!!!!! What a great costume job on the wolf. It's so perfect for kiddos. Just so cute! Glad Grace and you both have a clean bill of health. Hope you stay that way and welcome back to blogging!
ReplyDeleteHmm my comment didn't publish for some reason, but I'm so glad o see you back and hope everything is going well for you now. :) grace looks like she's taken to soccer very well, that seems quite the kick.
ReplyDeleteI bet you will be all the more creative for the break and the new appreciation for all the wonder that is life. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Maureen. I noticed, during my break, you took the google plus leap. I think I might be the last to take the leap and now I can't comment on your posts...another reason to join the google plus bandwagon.
DeleteYayy!! We've been waiting! And I love that soccer picture of Grace! She looks fierce :)
ReplyDeleteAmy, I'm so sorry you had to go through all that. Waiting helplessly for unknown answers is only 2nd to being unable to take away the pain of our children. I'm glad you both are doing well and welcome back! :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Paula. Your thoughtful and kind response summed it all up so perfectly. Looking back on all of it, now that I know everything worked out so well, I realize I wasted a lot of time worrying. Thanks again Paula.
Delete:) for the last couple of months I have been a very sporadic blogger as well...until last week. We all need breaks...and life happens. Glad to see you back (although I haven't noticed you being gone, as I was gone too. lol)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness...so much going on in your world. I'm so glad that everything turned out alright. Know that you were definitely missed! Your blog is one of the fast clicks on my browser and I'd click almost everyday to see if you posted anything...then I was sad to find you weren't, but so glad to see your back today! :)
ReplyDeleteI just realized how long it's been since I've done a single blog post too...lol. I'm so glad you got a clean bill of health! Welcome back!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Amber. It's so nice to be welcomed back by so many of my favorite bloggers.
DeleteMissed you but it looks like you are having fun. Glad you and Grace are feeling better. :)
ReplyDeleteI missed you! I had a feeling something was happening so I had you in my thoughts and prayers. My eldest had some dental issues this past 2 months and I became such a guilt-ridden overwhelmed mommy. Outside of our control one of his teeth died and it started to effect his gums and he had to have it pulled. I was besides myself with guilt. Though, in the end, his mouth is healthy and strong again, that is something I hope to not go through again. I am happy to have you back "in my life", if only through blogging. You were missed! <3 xoxo
ReplyDeleteOh Janiene...I know exactly how you feel. I felt the same way when I found out Grace needed dental work done. Just like you, it was out of our control but as a mom, you wish you could protect them from everything and you hate to see them have to endure anything that could be painful. Thank you for your sweet message. It's good to be back!
DeleteI'm so super excited to have you back. I've missed reading about you and your family, oh and the crafts too ;)
ReplyDeleteOh Erin...you are going to make me cry. Thank you so much for the warm welcome back.
DeleteHieeee Amy!!!
ReplyDeleteYayyy! You're finally back!! That's awesome. I'm so glad everything turned out okay, though I'm sorry that you and yours had to go through so much. It was so smart of you to take time off from blogging. One less thing to think about while you had so much going on.
You were truly missed and now that you're back, I can't wait to see what's on the agenda:)
Oh Di! Thank you so much. I feel so humbled by your thoughtful and kind comment. Makes me wish I had come back sooner. Thank you so much!
DeleteSo glad you & your daughter are both ok. I am about to go through wisdom teeth removal surgery with my "baby" who is almost 19, but I still worry. I think I need to print off your quote, to remind myself, not to worry. It really doesn't change the outcome. Glad to see you back!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I'm sending prayers and positive thoughts to your baby. It's nice to know, no matter how old Grace gets, I'll still (like you) think of her as my baby. Thanks for your warm welcome back.
Delete'Bout damm time. What, you were busy living your life? Glad you know where your priorities are.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for you! I had the painful lump on the side of my chest scare last summer - and so I COMPLETELY understand what you are saying. I never really found out what it was, but it took about 9 months for it to resolve on it's own. I'm so glad you are okay, and gave yourself time to be with the ones you love. It's why I'm such a HERE I AM...and THERE I'M NOT blogger :) Happy Summer Amy!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sarah. It's good to be back and be reminded how many wonderful friendships I've made through blogging. Thank you! And, so glad that your painful lump turned out to be nothing as well.
DeleteYou & that adorable daughter of yours were sorely missed. So glad the worrying was for nought.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Reminds me I am so overdue for a post.
Cheers
Lush
What a thoughtful and incredibly sweet comment. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much! Your comment warmed my heart and my soul. Thank you.
DeleteHoooray Amy! I'm so glad that you're back.
ReplyDeleteAnd hoo boy... major dental work for Grace and a lump-that-was-benign-but-still-holy-crap? It sounds like a little break is exactly what was needed.
I'm so happy that you're back though. I can't wait to see the gorgeous handiwork that I've come to love from you. I LOVE that wolf-mask, by the way. Man, you're so talented!
Hi Amy!! So happy you are back. I have been thinking and wondering what was going on.
ReplyDeleteI have been on again off again with blogging, but miss it too.
Good to see all is well with your family.
Super glad to see you back. :) I am a worrier too, always give myself a sick stomach. So glad everything worked out for both you and Grace, darn lumps. I haven't blogged in forever myself, life is just too busy right now and I see no sign of it getting any better. My kids are in 4 days a week swim team. Uggggh. Am I prepared for what's involved in being a swim team mom?
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good to have you back Amy. Your posts always brought a smile to my face and continue to do so. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Maysem for your sweet comment and for your sweet emails checking in with me.
DeleteHi Amy,

Ha! Thanks Amy. It's good to be back.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Amy! I've been wondering where you were, but figured you were busy with the craziness of life like I was... like we all are sometimes. I'm so glad everything worked out fine for both you and Grace. I know that everyone needs a bloggy break every once in awhile. Sooo glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are back! That the little lady had a successful Kindergarten year. And that she appears to be okay after the dental work!
ReplyDeleteI missed you! Glad you're back and busy and well. It's hard not to worry when things happen, but they say worrying is like praying for something you don't want! Just keep doing your best and you'll have no regrets. Xoxo. Erin
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! So glad you are back! I'm a worrier too, so I totally understand, but I'm glad that everything worked out! :)
ReplyDeletemissed you lots and glad all is well with you + grace! and now with all that downtime (and worrying in between) i'm sure you have some amazing projects to share. can't wait to see them;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're back! Quite a shift from ballet mom to soccer mom! Looks like Grace takes her sport seriously! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun to have you back! I just caught up on all your posts - LOVE the pallet mud pied kitchen and those super girl capes were amazingly cute! You rock my friend!
ReplyDeleteAlso very thankful the dental work went well for Grace and that your health is good too!
