Pin The Flower In Grace's Hair

Besides for plying children with cake and party favor bags, keeping them entertained is vital to maintain one's sanity as the hostess of a party.

I always like to incorporate some version of 'pin the tail on the donkey' into a party.  This year, for our garden themed party, I thought it was only fitting to pin a flower to something.

Since my sweet little Grace typically wears a flower barrette in her hair, pin the tail on the donkey became, pin the flower in Grace's hair.

This also gave me an opportunity to turn a pin to a reality.  I finally had an opportunity to order a Staples engineering print {for $4!}.

I adhered the extra large print to white foam board using tacking spray.

Once in place, I trimmed the excess foam board away using an X-Acto knife.

Pin the flower in Grace's hair.  A fun party game...

and, a sweet keepsake to keep post party.

Who needs a donkey, when you can create your own custom version of this fun classic.

  11. So cute Amy!! I'm with you when it comes to pin the donkey games. It's a fun game that should be incorporated in every party, and of course leave it to you to come up with a creative idea for a garden party. One question regarding the foam board... what thickness did you use and any tricks to getting smooth edges?

    1. Thanks Maysem! The foam board was a standard full sheet from Blick's. And, it helps to have 2 sets of hands while trying to arrange the print to the foam board.

  15. What a beautiful photo to use! Did you just place tape on the back of fresh flowers? And don't you mean "he" adhered the photo to the foam board, unless those are your arms in the photo ;).

    1. Busted trying to take credit for the mister's small part in this project :). Those are definitely not my arms!!!

I used artificial flowers and glue dots to hold them in place. The glue dots I have aren't incredibly sticky so they worked without permanently sticking or ruining the print.
