I Heart Fake Food - Sunny Side Up Eggs

It seems my 'I heart fake food tutorials' have been discovered and are getting quite a bit of attention in an unexpected country. I've enjoyed sharing these tutorials and know a majority of people who have stumbled upon them are enjoying them as well {and I hope continue to enjoy them}. I do want to say, I have not made any profit off of these patterns, it would be disheartening to find out they were being mass produced for profit making purposes.

Supplies:
White and Yellow Felt
White and Yellow Thread OR Fabric Glue
Egg Carton
Easter Eggs

Enlarging the pattern below {or making your own}

cut 2 pieces of the egg white out of white felt and 1 circle of yellow felt for the yolk.

Using a whip stitch, sew the yolk to one layer of egg.

When your yolk is secure, again, using a whip stitch, attach the remaining layer of egg to the back of the egg.

*Instead of sewing, you could easily use fabric glue to save some time.

Save an egg carton from your recycle bin...

Grab some Easter eggs and fill them with your sunny side up eggs.

Then, let the fun begin.

In the paraphrased words of Porky Pig, "Th-Th-Th-Th-Th-... That's all, yolks."

Make sure to check out my other felt food tutorials as well.

  1. These are adorable! I was thinking, you could even stuff a little fluff under the " yolk" to give it a 3 dimensional appearances. Your blog inspired me to go to the fabric store and stock up on felt ( in 16 different colors! ) :-) Thank you!

    1. Thank you so much! Thank goodness felt is so inexpensive or I'd feel a little guilty about sending you off to the fabric store :)
