If only

When I was growing up, I desperately wanted to be Samantha from Bewitched.

I am now convinced, I gave up on my dreams too soon.

On the days I am trying to find the time to fill my flower boxes.

I wish I could just wiggle my nose and without getting dirt under my finger nails, or breaking a sweat, or chasing after the dog that just tried to steal the flowers, my flower boxes would magically be filled.

Or on the days when I am trying to survive one of these...

I could just wiggle my nose and we could all enjoy the joys of nap time instead.

Or, when my street inevitable floods every year and for a few hours I own waterfront property...

I could just wiggle my nose and enjoy this view of the water instead.

Yes, Amy of yore, you gave up on your dream too quickly...

  1. baaaahaha, how cute! i always wanted to be a power ranger, so i could have super powers & know karate(how racial profilic of me to say that being im asian) LOL. I love this post & grace looks alot like u when u were little, how CUUUUTE!now, if u happen upon ne of those witchy powers, send some my way! haha ;)

    1. I think Power Rangers were a little after my time :) I'll be sure to share some of my magic with you...if I perfect my nose wiggle.

  2. Love it! I know those tantrum moments all too well. My trick is I start whispering to her to make her quiet down. Once she hears that she's still not getting her way, the tantrum usually starts all over unless I'm quick on my feet and redirecting her with something she wants.

  3. I could use some nose wiggling around here. I'm up to my armpits in five different projects at once. Some glue here. Some primer here. Some sanding out back. Some cleaning and hosing down and washing ...

Where is that Samantha Stevens when you need her ..

  4. Wonderful!!! Judging from the pics, you do have a talent, although it might not happen instantaneously :-).
Should you figure out how to do the nose wiggling please let us know!
    hugs to you

  5. You crack me up, Amy!! I love the tantrum picture boy was I overloaded with those yesterday. :)

  6. Hi, Amy,
I read your comment on Jennifer Rizzo's blog - I live in Glen Ellyn! I would love to meet you sometime... I am your newest follower!

  7. Amazing what fresh flowers will do for a girl. I got some at costco and planted them in a pot and now I feel like I am eight years old again.

  8. BAHAHAHA!!! Great post!! I want that power too! Adorable picture of you as a kid:)

  9. I'd use the power to take care of housework. Imagine all the extra time I'd have!

  10. I love this post. You are such a great writer and you have such a wonderful "voice." It made me feel like we were sitting down to a cup of coffee :)

  11. Adorable post!! I used to want to be Samantha too... if only we can just get what we want with a wiggle of a nose! But we can always dream, can't we? ;) Don't give up Amy! hehe

    1. I thought of you as I was writing this post. So much in common!!!
