Gallery Wall

Grace's big girl room continues to evolve.

Though, I love this 3 dimensional display of Grace's first Christmas dress, the real reason it's hung here...on this wall...

is because, originally, GRACE was spelled out here in individual wood letters.  This frame was the only thing big enough to hid the 11 holes we had in this wall.  11 holes!

So, we finally patched the holes, repainted the wall and decided to hang a gallery display here instead.

We have plaster walls.  Wish us luck getting everything hung.

And, yes, I find it ironic that we just patched 11 holes (!) in this wall only to put more holes into this same wall.

  1. Can't wait to see it! I would have done the same thing you did originally to avoid filling holes. Good luck!

  5. That's why they make drywall compound, to fix holes in walls so you can make more.

  6. Love that dress! For some of your smaller pictures, consider using Command picture strips. They really work and there are no holes!! (Plus they are easy to reposition.)

    1. Thanks so much Elena. I'll have to look into Command picture strips. It might save me lots of arguments with the mister about getting things hung.

  7. I can't wait to see the finished wall! :) I have plaster walls too, and I use Command Adhesive picture strips to hang my art. For the longest time, I didn't hang anything because of the walls, but the first time I used those strips, I felt FREEEEEE! I could finally hang pictures on my walls without worrying about cracks! :)

  8. Oh I hate making commitments that result in wall holes! It shows from the lack of stuff hung in our "new" house! Love that framed dress though, will it have a new home in the gallery?

  14. I will be delighted to see your gallery wall. I would love one and will be happy for the inspiration. It is going to kill me to put holes in the walls after we paid a sheet rock guy to spend 2 days repairing walls, but I know you'll inspire me to get over it!

  15. Sniggering about patching holes only to put up more holes. I am always putting holes in my walls to the husband's dismay.
