Felt Peeps Finger Puppet Tutorial

Peeps.  They aren't just for Easter anymore.

Learn to make these colorful felt Peeps finger puppets with this easy to follow tutorial.  Throw them in an Easter basket or make them just for fun.

Grab some Peep colored felts.  Stick with the standard yellow or branch out with some fun colors.

Using this Peep pattern (found below):
Cut 2 Peeps per each 1 finger puppet you want to make.

Find coordinating colored thread and a needle (or use glue if you want to attempt a no-sew option)

And sew the two Peep sections together.  Remember to leave the base of your Peep unsewn.

Get some brown paint (any kind will do) and a pencil with an eraser.

Dab your eraser into the brown paint and then dab onto the front of your Peeps to make the eyes and nose.

Once dried, enjoy your new Peeps finger puppet.

The question is, to Peep or not to Peep...I think it's obvious what the answer should be.

To Peep, of course.

Monsters Inc Finger Puppet Tutorial

Do you have a Monsters Inc. fan in your life?  These Monsters, Inc. felt finger puppets, are sure to bring a smile to their face.

To make your very own Mike Wazowski finger puppet.

Gather the following material:  felt (green, white, black, white), green thread and needle and glue.

Using the pattern below, cut all your felt pieces out.

On the front piece, glue the mouth first, then the teeth and finally the lip (just below the teeth).  Next glue your eye into place, starting with the white, blue and lastly the black (I added a green eyelid).

Grab the back piece and line it up behind the front piece.  Insert the 2 horns between the front and back piece.  Using your needle and thread do a running stitch starting where the left leg meets the body all around to where the right leg meets the body.  Leave the bottom of the body unstitched.  Finally, glue the arms together.

To make your own Sully Finger Puppet...

Gather the following supplies:  felt (2 shades of blue, black, white, gray, purple), blue thread and needle and glue.

Using the pattern below, cut out the felt pieces that make up Sully.

Start by gluing the eyes, nose and mouth to Sully's head.  Cut circles out of purple felt and glue them to both arms and feet.  Glue 3 claws onto each arm and 2 onto each foot.

Grab the back of Sully.  Glue the arms about an inch down from the top.  Place the horns between the head and the back and glue into place, positioning the head over the arms, matching up against the back of Sully.  Using your needle and thread, do a running stitch to secure the front of Sully's body to the back of his body.  I also stitched the feet onto the front of Sully's  body.  Leave the bottom of Sully unstitched.

And, there you have a set of Monsters, Inc. Finger Puppets.

Felt Gnome Finger Puppets Tutorial

To make these gnome finger puppets, gather the following supplies:  needle and thread (red, brown, blue), scissors, glue, felt (red, blue, yellow, white) and some small white rick rack (not pictured).

Ladies first.

To make a little lady gnome, print out the pattern below. Prep by cutting out all your pieces out of the appropriate color felt.

To one side of the gnome body (which will be the front), glue the top of the apron in the middle of the gnome body.  Glue rick rack over the top of the apron.

Grab the other body piece and place it behind the front piece, tucking the sides of the rick rack in between. Hand sew the sides closed, doing a simple running stitch, leaving the bottom open.

For the face, glue the nose into place.  Embroider eyes and mouth details, or cut pieces out of felt and glue into place.

To complete the gnome-ette, glue face to the back of the gnome hat.  Glue the hair into place.  Around the perimeter of the face, apply glue, attach the front of the gnome hat to the face.  Using a needle and red thread (or glue) secure the front and back of the gnome hat to each other and sew (or glue) the base of the hat to the body of the gnome.

Ta da...

What does every lady gnome need?  A gentleman gnome, of course.

To make the boy gnome, print out the pattern below. Prep by cutting out all your pieces out of the appropriate color thread.

Just as above, sew the body together leaving the bottom open.  Glue the nose, beard and mustache onto the gnome face.  Embroider eyes and lips (or cut pieces out of felt) to add to the face.  Either sew or glue the front of the hat over the top of the gnome face and secure the back of the hat into place as well.  Again, either by sewing or gluing, attach the head to the body of the gnome.

And, now your lady gnome has a friend.
