I quickly learned, things like fancy napkins and matching plates can blow your party budget.
I'm a frugal girl by heart so when I saw the fancy napkins were between $3-4 for 20 napkins, I just could not bring myself to splurge on fancy napkins.
Instead, I decided to make my own fancy napkins at a much more reasonable price.
Grab some cheap napkins {I paid $2 for 50 plain white napkins from the grocery store}, stamps and some ink.
I used the same rabbit stamp I used on Grace's birthday invitations. Simply press your stamp into the ink and stamp onto the napkin.
A custom napkin for a fraction of the cost.
Make sure you hop over and check out the rest of Grace's bunny themed birthday party.

Some Bunny Is 5
Can you guess what Grace's 5th birthday party theme was?
As we have in years past, instead of putting balloons on the front of the house to signal 'this is where the party is', I use my silhouette and some black vinyl to decorate our front porch stairs with a birthday message.
For Grace's 3rd birthday, an arts and crafts birthday, the stairs simply said, 'Happy Birthday Grace'. Her guests posed, with fake mustaches, using the stairs as another prop for pictures.
Last year, we celebrated Grace's 4th birthday with a circus themed birthday party. And, though, 2 people inquired what 'up right step' meant, I think her 'Step Right Up' stairs fit right into the birthday theme.
For each of her parties, I have enjoyed incorporating the front of our stairs into the decorations. Not only does it set the tone for her party but it has also made for a memorable photo each year.
No matter how different Grace's birthday have been, or how much she has changed over the years, I have to smile that the one thing that hasn't changed is Grace remains barefoot.

Pendant Garland Tutorial
Planning a party, decorating a room or need a prop for some cute pictures, why not make your own pendant garland.
Even if the thought of sewing something seems intimidating or out of reach for you, this is the perfect sewing project to test the waters with. It's practically no fail.
Grab the following supplies:
Pinking Shears or Rotary Cutter {if you prefer a straight edge on your pendants use scissors}
Fabric {the amount will depend on how big you make your pendants}
Double Biased Tape
Sewing machine {don't be intimidated}
Using your pinking shears/rotary cutter or scissors, cut out your flags. I used 7 white and red polka dot flags and 7 red and white polka dot flags {14 in total}
Open the biased tape and tuck the top of your flag in the middle of your biased tape.
Pin your flags into place. Using a zig zag stitch, sew your flags down.
And, just like that, you are done. Hang it up for decorations.
Or set it up for an interesting photo prop.
The possibilities are endless. Find fabric that you like, dust off your sewing machine and give it a try.
*You could also do a no sew version. Use Heat and Bond iron on adhesive for hems. Put the hem adhesive inside the double biased tape, along with the flags, and iron it down.
