Look at proud he is of his treasures.
Which I have to admit, have a ton of potential.
But I can still see their potential.
And...
I find this entire thing a little ironic since just a few months ago, I rescued a $3.99 chair from Goodwill, to which my husband responded, 'oh, you bought a chair'.
A chair that also had a ton of potential.
I have a feeling someone is going to want some help uncovering the potential in his chairs.
Ironic.
We've now come full circle.
What fantastic finds! I love how you've got your husband on the dark side of rescuing furniture. :) Can't wait to see what you two do. I'm sure it will be amazing as always. Megan
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am you have certainly come full circle!! I see you getting your way a lot in the future...after all you have the skills, so you have the bargaining power!! I have to admit though...I would be pretty happy if Sam brought those home to me! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteThose are some fine mid century modern pieces you found there. How funny that your husband is on board this time. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it! And those chairs are wonderful! Lots of potential and I can't wait to see what you do with them! Full Circle indeed...oh wait that's my deal! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHolly
LOL! That's awesome!! I can't wait to see the makeover on his finds. If he does ask for your help, just make him sweat a little bit before agreeing to help;)
ReplyDeleterescuing things is my mission ;)
ReplyDeleteVery fine pieces of furniture. He got his education from the chair you rescued.
ReplyDeleteAwesome rescue, I love your completed chair that blue is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteFun! I can not wait to see what you do. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS! Every last word.
ReplyDeleteOOHHH can't wait to see what you do! Did you ever decide to sell you tiffany blue chair?
ReplyDeleteThese look like some very good quality Mid Century Modern chairs. I would be looking to see how much I could get for them before I even touched them, these things are really popular & someone may want them just as they are (not painted).
ReplyDeleteChuckling at the husband. Does he not know how addictive thrifting is?? LOL
Cheers
Lush
i agree definitely check them out before any work to them. it may decrease their value significantly. we watch a show called, "Picked Off" and the stool looks very similiar to one that was appraised at $800 as is.
DeleteHeehee! Can't wait to see what you do with those! Potential indeed! Awesome find!
ReplyDeleteI think he is going through his junk conversion.... the equivalent to the change of life that happens to a junkers spouse. He's coming over to the light and leaving the dark side behind.
ReplyDeleteBliss
Girl I have a question> did he come to you this way or HAVE YOU ENDOCTRINATED HIM..did he actually "know what he was getting" or was he just lucky?
ReplyDeleteDecorators on HGTV often dive and search for pieces like this for their projects.

DeleteOOOPS I intended to say: "Way to go Hubby of yours!"
DeleteLove those! Can't wait to see what you do to them!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've trained him well, got any tips?! I think I need to train myself first, and get a vehicle, seems so hard to get cheap thrifted furniture without a car. And since you brought your other chair up, did you decide to sell it or keep it in the end?
ReplyDeleteyou totally scored! great roadside find!!
ReplyDeleteThe definitely have a ton of potential! Can't wait to see what you do with them!
ReplyDeletei luv it! and it *rocks* that your hubby would stop and rescue chairs. mine gives me a hard time everytime i come home with something thrifted or free to redo. i luv the mid-century modern lines of them. GORG!
ReplyDeletethats hilarious.
ReplyDeletetoo funny....It looks like hubby has a really great eye, so you'll probably get all kinds of wonderful things from his thrifting. Your makeover chair turned out beautifully. I bought two Thrift Store chairs a few years ago, but have been way too intimidated to recover because of all the lines and angels. I know I'd never get that right. Instead, I've thrown slipcovers over them. Which, by the way, Ms. Ramsay wrote her name on....I know, the walls, the furniture, someone lock up the markers!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I hope you said "oh, you found some chairs" very disinterested...lol. Di
ReplyDeleteThose chairs are so nice! Man oh man do I wish I was you right now! I can't wait to see them when they are finished.
ReplyDeleteCheck it out, Amy. I spied this (very similar) chair over at Urban Outfitters. Wow! Good finds!
