Farmers Market and Felt Food

Since I've had Grace, I have become quite smitten with play market stands.
The Land of Nod had an adorable Shop Till You Drop Market with a steep price tag attached.

It was a moment of fate, when a friend of mine told me about Ana White. If you haven't had the pleasure of perusing her blog, you are missing out. She provides free plans for building things like furniture and she just so happened to have plans for a market stand. Did I mention she does this for FREE?

With Ana White's market plans in hand, we were able to build one of our own for Grace. We made a few modifications but could NOT have done it without Ana's easy to follow plans.

Our market was built with ample space for lots and lots of fake food, which is great for playing but can be expensive for filling.

Land of Nod also had some adorable felt fruit and vegetable sets available for purchase.

But filling the market would have meant buying at least 30 sets of Land of Nod felt food. SO with a stack of felt at my finger tips, I figured, why not try to make some myself and in the process save some money.

It was this moment of frugality that my love of felt grew and felt fruit and vegetables were created. Come back tomorrow and see my first 'I heart fake food' tutorial...

  1. C'est superbe ! Vos tutos sont très clairs et mes 2 petites filles (18 mois et 3 ans) sont folles de vos petits aliments en feutrine. Merci, gros gros merci...
